Alerts that are worth reading

Most price alert setups fail in one of two ways: they alert on every small change until people ignore them, or they rely on someone checking a dashboard that nobody opens.

A useful alert is tied to a decision. 'Competitor X is now 7% below you on product Y' is something you can act on; 'Competitor X changed a price' usually is not.

Luska's undercut alert works on that principle. You set the percentage; it fires once when a competitor crosses below that line, not on every check while they stay there.

How Luska does it

  1. 1

    Track your competitors

Add competitor product URLs for each product. Luska checks them daily and records price and stock.

  2. 2

    Set your undercut threshold

Choose a percentage — say 5%. When a competitor's price drops more than that below yours, Luska raises an alert.

  3. 3

    One alert per crossing

The alert fires when the competitor crosses the line, not again on every check while they stay below it.

  4. 4

    See every move

A competitor price-move feed lists all changes, and price-change digests and a weekly summary email cover the rest.

  5. 5

    Respond with a suggested price

On Professional, the same data feeds a recommendation for your price, with a reason and a confidence score, inside margin guardrails.

Who it's for

Shops in fast-moving categories

Where a competitor promotion can take your sales for a week before anyone notices.

Small teams

Who cannot watch a dashboard every day and need to be told when something matters.

Anyone replacing manual checks

Daily checks and alerts replace opening competitor tabs in a browser.

Setting alert thresholds that work

Start wider than you think

A 5–10% undercut threshold catches the moves that matter without flooding your inbox. Tighten it once you see the volume.

Check stock before reacting

A cheaper competitor who is out of stock is not a threat. Luska shows stock status next to every price.

Use the weekly summary for the rest

Smaller moves belong in the weekly summary email and the price-move feed, not in an alert.

Pair alerts with a response

An alert is more useful when it comes with a suggested price. On Professional, the same data feeds a recommendation inside your guardrails.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly will I be alerted?

Competitor prices are checked daily, so an undercut is picked up at the next check after it happens.

Will I get the same alert every day?

No. The undercut alert fires once when a competitor crosses below your threshold. It fires again only if they go back above and cross again.

What if the competitor is out of stock?

Luska records stock status on every check, so you can see whether the cheaper offer can actually be bought.

Can alerts go to Slack or Teams?

Channel alerts to Slack or Microsoft Teams are available on Professional and above. Email alerts and the weekly summary are on every plan.
