Getting Started with Luska
From sign-up to your first pricing recommendation in 10 minutes
Sign up and log in
Create your account and complete the onboarding flow to set your currency and pricing preferences.
Add your first product
Click 'Add Product' in the dashboard. Enter name, your current selling price, and cost price (for margin calculations).
Add a competitor URL
On the product card, click 'Add Competitor'. Paste the URL of a competitor's product page. Luska will auto-extract the price.
Wait for the first scan
Luska will scrape the competitor price within minutes. You'll see the result on your product card.
Review your first recommendation
Once competitor data is in, the AI generates a pricing recommendation. Review it in the Recommendations tab.
Accept, adjust, or dismiss
Click 'Apply' to set the recommended price, adjust it manually, or dismiss if you disagree. You're always in control.
π‘ Pro Tip
Add at least 3 competitors per product for the best AI recommendations. More data = higher confidence scores.
Setting Up Autopilot Pricing
Let AI optimize prices automatically within your guardrails
Go to Settings β Autopilot
Open the Autopilot Pricing configuration panel.
Choose your strategy
Select how Autopilot should price: Match Lowest, Beat Lowest by X%, Match Average, or Maintain Premium.
Set guardrails
Define minimum margin % (floor), maximum margin %, and maximum price change % per adjustment. These limits are never violated.
Configure limits
Set the maximum number of adjustments per day to control how actively prices change.
Enable per category (optional)
Create different Autopilot rules for different product categories. Electronics might be aggressive, luxury items conservative.
Activate and monitor
Toggle Autopilot on. Monitor adjustments in the Activity Log and review the daily report email summarizing all changes.
π‘ Pro Tip
Start conservative (5% max change, 25% min margin) and gradually loosen guardrails as you gain confidence in the AI's decisions.
Configuring MAP Compliance
Monitor and document minimum advertised price violations
Go to Settings β MAP Compliance
Open the MAP configuration section.
Enter MAP prices per product
For each product with a MAP policy, enter the minimum advertised price set by the supplier.
Enable violation monitoring
Luska will automatically check every tracked competitor against your MAP rules during each price scan.
Review violations
When a violation is detected, it appears in the MAP Violations dashboard with the offending price and competitor details.
Download evidence
Each violation includes a timestamped screenshot of the competitor's page. Download these for supplier communications or legal documentation.
π‘ Pro Tip
Set up Channel Alerts for MAP violations to get instant Slack or email notifications when a competitor breaks MAP.
Using Price Scheduling
Plan and automate future price changes
Open a product detail page
Navigate to the product you want to schedule a price change for.
Click 'Schedule Price Change'
Enter the new price and select the date and time it should take effect.
Mark as promotional (optional)
If this is a sale or promotion, select a promotion type. This flows into Google Merchant feeds as a sale price.
Review in the Pricing Calendar
All scheduled changes appear on the calendar view. See upcoming changes across your entire catalog at a glance.
Edit or cancel
Before execution time, you can modify the price, change the date, or cancel the scheduled change entirely.
π‘ Pro Tip
Use scheduled pricing for Black Friday, seasonal sales, or coordinated product launches. Schedule the revert-to-normal price too!
Optimizing with Elasticity & Seasonality
Use demand intelligence to make smarter pricing decisions
View elasticity estimates
On any product, check the Elasticity tab to see estimated demand sensitivity. Higher elasticity = customers are more price-sensitive.
Understand the coefficient
An elasticity of 1.5 means a 10% price increase reduces demand by ~15%. Below 1.0 means demand is relatively stable.
Check seasonality forecasts
The Analytics tab shows AI-predicted seasonal patterns. Identify peak demand periods and slow seasons for each category.
Factor into your strategy
During high-demand seasons, you may be able to increase margins. During slow periods, aggressive pricing can capture market share.
Let AI use this data
AI recommendations automatically incorporate elasticity and seasonality. Higher-confidence recommendations mean the AI has strong seasonal data.
π‘ Pro Tip
Products with at least 3 months of price history give much more accurate elasticity and seasonality estimates.
Building Custom Reports
Create branded PDF reports for stakeholders
Go to the Reports tab
Navigate to the Analytics section and click on Reports.
Select report sections
Choose which data to include: executive summary, competitor analysis, price history charts, recommendation performance, and more.
Add branding (Pro+)
Upload your company logo and configure header/footer text. Professional and Enterprise plans support full brand customization.
Generate the report
Click 'Generate PDF'. The report is compiled with your selected sections, data range, and branding.
Schedule recurring reports
Set up automatic weekly or monthly report generation. Reports are emailed to your chosen recipients.
π‘ Pro Tip
Use the executive summary section for C-level stakeholders β it highlights key metrics and ROI without the technical detail.
Managing Margin Guardrails
Protect profitability with automatic margin floors
Go to Settings β Guardrails
Open the Margin Guardrails configuration.
Set warning threshold
Define the margin % where you want to be alerted (e.g., 20%). Products approaching this level will show a warning badge.
Set critical threshold
Define the hard floor (e.g., 10%). AI recommendations that would push margins below this are blocked automatically.
Configure per category (optional)
Different categories may have different margin requirements. Set specific thresholds for high-margin vs. volume categories.
Enable auto-alerts
Turn on automatic notifications when products breach guardrails. Combine with Channel Alerts for Slack/email delivery.
π‘ Pro Tip
Set your critical threshold just above your break-even margin. This ensures you never sell at a loss, even with aggressive competitive pricing.
Using Smart Digests
Get AI-curated email summaries of your pricing landscape
Go to Settings β Digest
Open the Smart Digest configuration panel.
Choose frequency
Select daily or weekly delivery. Daily is ideal for active pricing managers; weekly works for oversight roles.
Set delivery time
Pick the time of day (in your timezone) when you want to receive the digest.
Select content sections
Choose what to include: top pricing actions, competitor moves, missed revenue opportunities, and margin warnings.
Save and activate
Toggle the digest on. You'll receive your first digest at the next scheduled time.
π‘ Pro Tip
Set your daily digest for 8 AM so you start each day knowing exactly which pricing actions to prioritize.
Setting Up Product Positioning
Define what makes your products unique for smarter AI recommendations
Open any product detail page
Navigate to a product and scroll to the Product Positioning section, or edit the product.
Select market positioning
Choose your product's tier: Budget, Value, Mid-Market, Premium, or Luxury. This determines which price percentile the AI targets.
Set product type
Specify whether this is a Physical Product, Digital Product, Service, or Subscription. This context helps the AI understand pricing dynamics.
Describe your target audience
Enter a brief description of who buys this product (e.g., 'Professional photographers looking for high-end equipment').
Add differentiators / USPs
List what makes your product unique: superior quality, exclusive features, brand prestige, better warranty, etc. Type each USP and press Enter.
Save and get better recommendations
The AI will now factor your positioning into its pricing suggestions. A luxury product won't be told to match the cheapest competitor.
π‘ Pro Tip
Even setting just the positioning tier (e.g., 'Premium') significantly improves recommendation quality. Add differentiators later for even more context.
Configuring Financial Goals
Set business KPIs to guide portfolio-level pricing decisions
Go to Settings β Goals
Open the Financial Goals configuration panel.
Set your revenue target
Enter your target monthly revenue. This helps the AI understand the scale of your business objectives.
Set your margin target
Define the overall margin percentage you're aiming for across your portfolio.
Set growth target (optional)
Enter a growth percentage target if you're focused on scaling.
Choose your priority
Select what matters most: Revenue (maximize volume), Margin (protect profitability), or Market Share (competitive positioning).
Add notes (optional)
Provide additional context about your business strategy that the AI should consider.
π‘ Pro Tip
Your priority setting shapes how the AI balances trade-offs. 'Revenue' priority may suggest lower margins on high-volume products to hit your target.
Adding Market Context
Feed real-world observations into AI recommendations
Go to Settings β Market Context
Open the Market Context panel.
Choose a category
Select the type of observation: Macro Economy, Industry Trend, Consumer Behavior, Supply Chain, or General.
Write your observation
Describe the market condition (e.g., 'Central bank raised rates 0.25pp β expect consumer spending to slow in Q3').
Click Add Note
The note is saved and immediately available to the AI for future recommendations and reports.
Manage active notes
Review your active notes below. Remove outdated observations when conditions change.
π‘ Pro Tip
Update your market context monthly or when significant events occur. Even brief notes like 'Competitor X exited the market' help the AI give better advice.
Using the Intelligence Dashboard
Overview of all competitive intelligence widgets and how to use them
Navigate to the Intelligence tab
Click 'Intelligence' in the dashboard sidebar. This tab contains all competitive intelligence tools beyond pricing.
Review competitor changes
The Competitor Changes Feed shows recent modifications detected across your tracked competitors β pricing, features, messaging, and more.
Explore the SWOT analysis
Click any competitor to view their AI-generated SWOT analysis. Re-analyze periodically to track how competitors evolve.
Check strategic alerts
View fired alerts and configure new trigger rules. Alerts notify you of market conditions that need attention.
Monitor sentiment trends
The Sentiment Monitor tracks competitor review scores over time. Look for drops that signal opportunities.
Review intelligence summary cards
The Overview tab shows aggregated intelligence metrics when you have intelligence data β even without tracked products.
π‘ Pro Tip
Set up 2-3 strategic alerts for your most important competitors. This ensures you're notified of significant market shifts without needing to check the dashboard daily.
Tracking Win/Loss Records
Add deal outcomes and let AI identify competitive patterns
Open the Win/Loss Tracker
Navigate to Intelligence β Win/Loss Tracker in your dashboard.
Add a deal outcome
Click 'Add Record'. Select the competitor involved, whether you won or lost, the deal value, and any notes about why.
Build your history
Add historical deals too β the more data, the better the AI pattern analysis. Even 10-15 records start revealing patterns.
Review AI patterns
As your history grows, the AI identifies trends: which competitors you consistently beat, at what price points, and what factors correlate with wins.
Use insights strategically
Apply patterns to future deals β if you win 80% against Competitor X when priced within 5%, use that as a pricing anchor.
π‘ Pro Tip
Include notes about deal context (urgency, buyer type, feature requirements) β the AI uses this for richer pattern analysis.
Setting Up Strategic Alerts
Create custom trigger rules for competitive market events
Navigate to Intelligence β Strategic Alerts
Open the Strategic Alert Builder in the Intelligence tab.
Click 'Create Alert Rule'
Define a name and description for your alert.
Set the trigger condition
Choose from: competitor price change %, sentiment score change, content velocity threshold, win rate decline, or market share shift.
Configure the threshold
Set the numeric threshold that fires the alert (e.g., 'sentiment drops more than 15%' or 'competitor publishes more than 8 posts/month').
Choose notification channels
Select how you want to be notified: in-app, email, Slack, or webhook.
Activate the rule
Toggle the rule on. It runs automatically against incoming intelligence data.
π‘ Pro Tip
Start with broad thresholds and tighten them over time. Too many false alerts cause alert fatigue; too few means you miss important signals.
Building Client Reports (Agencies)
Create white-labeled competitive intelligence reports for your clients
Open the Client Report Builder
Navigate to Intelligence β Client Reports in your dashboard.
Create a new report
Click 'New Report'. Enter the client name and optionally upload their logo.
Select report sections
Choose which intelligence sections to include: competitor landscape, market position, sentiment analysis, opportunity board, and strategic recommendations.
Configure branding
Set primary colors, header text, and footer details to match your client's brand guidelines.
Generate and share
Click 'Publish' to generate a shareable link. Reports can have expiration dates for security.
Schedule recurring reports
Set up weekly or monthly auto-generation to keep clients informed without manual effort.
π‘ Pro Tip
Use the executive summary section for busy stakeholders. Include the full competitor landscape for teams that need operational detail.
