The problem with reactive pricing
Many hotels, operators and event organisers price from what already happened: last week's bookings, last year's same day, or instinct. By the time demand is obvious, the best moment to change the price has often passed.
- Pricing reacts to bookings instead of anticipating them
- No forward view of demand per date and unit
- Holidays, events and promotions left out of pricing decisions
- Busy dates sold too cheaply; quiet dates left empty at full price
- Forecasts kept in a spreadsheet, separate from the prices
How Luska forecasts demand
A transparent statistical forecast, not a black box: average occupancy adjusted for weekday, month, recent trend and the demand drivers you enter.
Per-date, per-unit forecasts
Forecast occupancy for every date and unit (room type, route or ticket tier), 60 days ahead by default and up to 90.
Weekday, seasonal and trend factors
The baseline is adjusted for day-of-week and month patterns in your history, plus the trend of the last two weeks, which fades out further ahead.
Demand-driver calendar
Add holidays, events, conferences and other drivers with an expected lift per date range. Luska can also suggest drivers for you to review.
Confidence indicator
Each forecast shows a confidence level based on how much booking history it has to work with, so thin data is visible rather than hidden.
Refresh when you need it
Regenerate the forecast from the dashboard after new bookings or new demand drivers have been added.
Used by the yield optimiser
When you run the yield optimiser, high-demand dates are priced up and soft dates down, weighted by the forecast's confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much historical data do I need?
None to start: without history the forecast begins from a neutral baseline with low confidence. Confidence rises as booking history builds up; the forecast looks back over the last 90 days by default.
Does it use machine learning?
No. The forecast is an average of your historical occupancy, adjusted for weekday, month, recent trend and the demand drivers you enter. That keeps every forecast explainable.
How are demand drivers added?
From the demand-driver calendar in each capacity dashboard. Add holidays, events, conferences or custom drivers with an expected lift per date range, or ask Luska to suggest some for you to review.
Can I see the forecast separately from pricing decisions?
Yes. The forecast view charts predicted occupancy per date, for all units or one at a time, with its confidence level.
