Yield decisions need comp-set context
A demand forecast tells you how busy a date will be, but not whether a guest will find the same thing cheaper next door. Pricing without comp-set context risks losing bookings or leaving money on the table.
- Comp-set rates change per night, not just the headline price
- Manual rate checks take hours and go out of date quickly
- No date-by-date view of where you sit in the comp set
- Competitor moves noticed too late
- Competitive position kept out of pricing logic
What Luska does today
Comp sets per unit, a date-by-competitor grid and rank and gap analytics. Automatic collection of competitor rates from booking sites is in development: until it ships, the comp-set rates shown are modelled from your own base price and are for planning only.
Comp sets per unit
Add competitors for each room type, route or event tier, with a source such as Booking.com, Expedia, GetYourGuide or a URL. Different units can have different comp sets.
Date-by-competitor grid
See the next 14 nights or departures as a grid, with your row pinned above the comp-set median. Your cells are coloured when you are more than 5% above or below it.
Rank and gap
See your rank in the comp set and your percentage gap to the median per date, and how both trend over the next 30 days. Rank and gap are computed from observed competitor rates only, so they appear once live collection ships.
Position in the yield optimiser
With three or more observed competitor rates for a date, the optimiser nudges price down when you sit well above the comp set and up when you sit well below it, in small fixed steps. Modelled rates are never used to set prices.
Live rate collection (in development)
Automatic, scheduled collection of competitor rates from booking sites is being built. Until then, comp-set rates are modelled estimates, labelled as such in the app.
Key Benefits
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add competitors to a comp set?
From the Market tab in any capacity dashboard, add competitors per pricing unit, each with a name and a source (Booking.com, Expedia, GetYourGuide, a URL or manual).
Are the competitor rates live?
Not yet. Automatic collection of competitor rates from booking sites is in development. Until it is available, the comp-set rates are modelled from your own base price, labelled "Modelled — not live competitor data" in the app, and are not used by the yield optimiser or autopilot.
How does comp-set position affect my prices?
When a date has three or more observed competitor rates, the yield optimiser compares your price with the comp set. More than 8% above lowers the price by 3%; more than 8% below raises it by 4%; smaller gaps produce smaller steps or none. Modelled rates are ignored, so until live collection ships comp-set position does not change your prices.
What if a competitor's rate isn't available?
Missing rates are shown as a dash in the grid and left out of the median.
